You’ve got to add this app right now.
Take a selfie and post it to your followers without having to worry about negative comments or bullying. That’s the simple, yet brilliant concept behind @Shots, a user-friendly photo-sharing app from the innovative mind of CEO John Shahidi.
Launched in November 2013 by Shahidi and his brother Sam, and with the help of celebrity investors like Floyd Mayweather and Justin Bieber, Shots has become a major player in the social media game. The app now boasts over 5 million users, half of whom use it on a daily basis.
Here are some recent Shots posted by Mayweather and Bieber:
Due to its focus on selfies, the app only allows users to use their front-facing camera. However, there is no restriction on the types of photos users can post. In fact, Mayweather insisted on announcing his decision to fight Manny Pacquiao by posting the news via Shots, complete with a photo of the signed contract.
One of the things that makes Shots so special is its anti-bullying stance. Strangers are not allowed to post negative comments about the photos, or post any comments at all for that matter. Mayweather feels so strongly about keeping the app free of hostility that he once said to Shahidi, “I had a bad dream that we put comments inside Shots… I need you to make sure we won’t ever do that.”
Word on the street is that Shots believes in promoting love, not hate. Users either like a photo or keep on scrolling.
It’s that simple.
INFLUENTIAL USERS ON THE PLATFORM
Besides Mayweather and Bieber, Shots has tons of other celebrity influencers including Kylie Jenner, Snoop Dogg, Amanda Cerny and King Bach.
Took a look at some of their latest Shots below.
CEO JOHN SHAHIDI
Shots isn’t Shahidi’s first claim to fame by any means. He previously founded the wildly successful mobile gaming company RockLive and he’s known by many as the “King of Twitter” due to his influence on that platform. In other words, the guy’s a damn amazing businessman and someone you definitely want in your corner – just as he is right here.
