Henryville Junior-Senior High in Indiana is home to 500 students, ranging from seventh graders all the way up to seniors. Luckily, they weren’t in the building on March 2, 2012, when a massive tornado eviscerated it.
The following footage is from a security camera in the gym. In a matter of seconds, the entire place was destroyed.
And here’s the tornado hitting other parts of the school.
According to Indy Star, the disaster caused $1 billion worth of damage to the area. The school was the first thing to be rebuilt — it reopened after just six months.
