Florida firefighter Tara Holcomb didn”t know exactly what she would find when she stuck her hand into a wall, but what she discovered was too cute to let go.
Holcomb was responding to reports from a family of an animal stuck in their home”s chimney, and when she felt the tiny body and lean tail, she started to think that she was going to all this trouble to rescue a rat.
Luckily, she pulled out this little cutie instead, who now goes by the name Wall-E.
She and her coworkers checked to make sure there weren”t any other cats stuck inside the plaster and saw no signs of a mother or siblings.
Although she initially left him with the owners of the home, Holcomb just couldn”t stop thinking about him. And who could blame her?
So instead of waiting for them to find a new home for him, she went back the next day and brought him into her own family.
Estimated to be only about a week old, Wall-E wasn”t even able to open his eyes yet. Holcomb began bottle-feeding him formula.
Now he fits right in with her family”s other pets, including a Miniature Dachshund who immediately took to mothering the youngster.
They also have another cat who Holcomb rescued while on duty.

The other firefighters might make fun of her for always taking in the animals she rescues on her calls, but something tells me Holcomb doesn”t really mind the teasing when she gets to go home to cute faces like Wall-E”s.
