When it comes to the lifestyles of the rich and famous, it can be tough to see them as real people. What”s even more difficult is relating to world leaders. With the stroke of their pens they can start world wars, change laws, or just board a private jumbo jet to travel to a different state.
But, despite their millions of dollars and infinite power, presidents and prominent world leaders are actually a lot like us. They”re still humans. Don”t believe me? Here”s the proof.
1. They get a little goofy.
Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel evoking his childish side.
2. They know how to get down.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously busted a move during a trip to South Africa.
3. They”re flirty.
Vice President Joe Biden way obviously paying attention when President Obama gave his 2014 State of The Union address.
4. They have pit stains.
Prince Harry of Wales got overheated in Brazil.
5. They take awkward selfies.
President Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark”s Prime Minister Hellen Thorning-Schmidt snapped a selfie during Nelson Mandela”s memorial service. Not the time or the place, people!
6. They get caught on candid camera eating food.
Former Vice President Richard Cheney was caught chowing down.
7. They make poor fashion choices.
A morning jog for former Vice President Al Gore was all about comfort.
8. They do the awkward butt-out hug/are we shaking hands/are we kissing – thing, too!
President Obama awkwardly embraced Aung San Suu Kyi, a politician in Burma, during a visit.
9. What is it with these people?
Minority Leader for the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner, Speaker of the House, are doing…well, I”m not quite sure WHAT they”re doing. It”s awkward, though.
10. It”s just…really uncomfortable.
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel go in for a kiss…or is it a hug?
11. They have one too many.
Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge partied one night, long before they said their “I do”s.”
12. They trip while walking.
President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, fell recently. Since then, he”s suspended 27 of his bodyguards because they weren”t quick enough to help him up.
13. They get bored.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tries to cover up a yawn after hours of testimony on Capitol Hill.
14. They love their pets.
President Obama runs around with his Portuguese water dog, Bo.
15. They cry.
Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, known for being especially stoic, cried following a tragic bombing in England.
16. They check out people that aren”t their significant others…
President Obama checked out a young Brazilian woman.
17. They can”t hide their hatred for each other.
President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin clearly aren”t fond of each other during the G8 conference.
18. They have awkward public displays of affection.
Al Gore smooches his wife Tipper at the 2000 Democratic National Convention.
19. They have giggle fits!
Boris Yeltsin, the first President of the Russian Federation, and President Clinton shared a good chuckle in 1995.
Gosh, they really are just like us. But…I can”t help but come back to the fact that they have unlimited wealth and run countries. Is it just me, or does it make you worried that they”re so…human?
