Turning A Frown Upside Down Doesn’t Make You Happy, It Makes You Look Weird.

South African photographer Anelia Loubser”s latest photo series challenges our perception of emotions. Instead of photographing people”s faces straight on, she only photographed the top of their heads. She then flipped the image and played with the composition. Here”s how she explains it:

This collection of portraits challenges the viewer by using creative tactics based on the concept, If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change,” said Loubser.

Apparently…

Apparently...

When you flip our faces upside down…

When you flip our faces upside down...

We just end up looking alien.

We just end up looking alien.

NOPE NOPE NOPE.

NOPE NOPE NOPE.

I can”t stop looking at these flipped images.

I can

When you flip faces like they, they look like creatures from another planet. Crazy. Make sure to check out the full photo series here. You can also find more of Loubser”s work here. She”s also on Facebook.
