Bonsai the bulldog pup is only about a month old, but he”s already been through a lot more than most dogs have to endure in an entire lifetime. Born with deformed back legs, half a spine, and a handful of associated complications, this little guy is the picture of resilience.
He”s just as energetic as any other pup. He always wants to play!
And he has so much love to give.
But his deformed legs were holding him back…
So little Bonsai”s humans decided that it”d be best to amputate his back legs.
Unfortunately, there was one very scary moment during the procedure. The doctors were afraid he wasn”t getting enough oxygen.
They were fortunately able to stabilize him in time.
Since his chest cavity is tiny, it was difficult for doctors to determine how to position the brave pup during surgery.
The vet decided to complete the operation upside down.
The tough-as-nails baby thanked his industrious surgeon with a handstand!
Bonsai then began an intensive round of muscle therapy and rehabilitation.
Even after all that, he wants everyone to know that nothing”s gonna bring him down!

How cute are all those little noises he makes? It”s remarkable how playful and happy Bonsai manages to be after facing so many hardships.
I believe with all of my heart that this little guy has a fulfilling life ahead of him, especially since he has such loving parents. If you want to help him continue down the road to recovery, you can donate a little money here!
