They may seem cute at first, but when porcupinefish puff out, not only do they look like medieval torture devices, some of them have quills filled with neurotoxins 1,200 times more potent than cyanide.
But that didn’t seem to stop members of a marine conservation nonprofit called CORE sea from helping a pufferfish break free from a net that held him hostage. Watch as this animal lover precariously cuts free the agitated fish with a broken beer bottle.

It was dangerous work, for sure, but someone had to do it. I bet, despite his misgivings, the porcupinefish is thankful to be free.
