An Internet user”s great grandfather was a soldier in the first World War. During his time in service, he got shot in the chest. He was at the battle of the Somme in the First World War when he was hit. The bullet penetrated his jacket and then hit his metal cigarette case. Because of the case, the bullet didn”t hit his chest… and that saved his life.
This is the jacket the soldier was wearing at the time he got shot.
The tear from where the bullet grazed his arm.
The hole where the bullet entered his chest.
The bullet penetrated his jacket, but was stopped by a metal cigarette case.
He didn”t change the case since the day it saved his life.
Luckily, he didn”t have to use this field dressing kit.
