The Oculus Rift, which despite its name is not a time travel device or the event horizon of a blackhole or the next villain in Spider-Man, is set to come out in the First Quarter of 2016, which is also how much it might cost. JK! I have no idea how many years it will take to save up for this fun piece of technology.
That’s right, the product that is set to change the face of gaming, and change the game in how much fun you can have pushing people over who are wearing it, is coming on a face near you (ew) by Q1 2016.
Here’s what the company has said about their product on their blog:
“The Oculus Rift builds on the presence, immersion, and comfort of the Crescent Bay prototype with an improved tracking system that supports both seated and standing experiences, as well as a highly refined industrial design, and updated ergonomics for a more natural fit. In the weeks ahead, we’ll be revealing the details around hardware, software, input, and many of our unannounced made-for-VR games and experiences coming to the Rift. “
Both seated AND standing experiences?! Standing and sitting is like my jam!
Want to strap this mask on, and never take it off? Well, pre-orders are available later this year!
But wait a hot minute, doesn’t this look familiar?
…or the mask of Lord Vader?
