Meet Charlie: The Deaf Dalmatian Who Doesn’t Let Anything Hold Him Back

Just one year ago, this sweet-natured pup was on the kill list at a New York City shelter. Luckily, he was saved from a grim fate by his forever mom. Colleen from Dogs On Q found him by specifically searching out dogs nearing the end of the list. He had been given five days for someone to take him in.

Now going by Charlie, the dalmatian’s previous owners said he was “completely untrainable, destructive, biter, dumb,” and that the young boy just “didn’t listen.” That last one is especially ironic considering the pup in question is in fact deaf. Thank goodness he’s in much better hands now…

After six months of training, Charlie is now a certified therapy dog.
