Whether it”s fast food or fine dining, it”s always nice to treat yourself to a meal on the town. But what about your poor pooch sitting at home alone while you chow down?
Luckily, there are several places around the world that offer special items just for puppy palates.
1. Johnny Rocket”s
Dogs are welcome to any of the outdoor patios and can munch on a plate of cut-up burger and a refreshing bowl of water. The Victoria Gardens location in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, stepped things up by partnering with a local dog bakery to provide a 20-item menu of sweet puppy treats.
2. In-N-Out Burger
A more literal take on “animal style,” the burger chain offers a salt-free “pup patty” in their very own doggy bag.
3. Barking Dog Cafe
Located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, the outdoor seating area is open for pups to roam. They also offer small, personalized platters and provide a dog water fountain.
4. Tim Horton”s
Sugar-free versions of their delicious Timbits donut holes make a perfect, bite-sized treat for your pooch.
Famous for many secret menu items, the coffee chain goes the extra mile for pups in the know by offering a Puppuccino (whipped cream in a cup).
6. Lazy Dog Cafe
This dog-loving diner offers outdoor seating for guests and their pups to hang out and maybe make some new friends. Their menu also includes a dog-friendly plate of meat and rice!
7. Hot Dog Cafe
This is the place to really spoil your pooch; on top of dining, the restaurant offers an indoor dog park, kennel, and grooming. That”s canine fine dining if we”ve ever heard of it!
8. Dairy Queen
While you chow down on a Blizzard, your puppy pals can enjoy a nice “pup cup” of vanilla soft-serve ice cream.
9. Moss Beach Distillery
This Moss Beach, California, restaurant offers patio seating for you and your pups where they can select an item off the special doggy menu.
10. The Attic
The Long Beach, CA, restaurant offers a small menu of meaty treats for your pup, including their own full-sized steak for “Champion” dogs.
11. Sprinkles Cupcakes
You can grab sugar-free, yogurt-icing-topped puppy cupcakes for your pooch while treating yourself to your own confection.
12. Tin Shed Garden Cafe
This Portland, Oregon, cafe always allows dogs in their outdoor seating area, but on Tuesday nights, they kick things up a notch with “Doggy Love Night.” For every human item you order, you get a doggy item for free!
13. Culver”s Frozen Custard
The drive-through regularly offers Milk-Bones for puppy passengers, but certain locations make the treat extra sweet by putting it on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
14. Sonic Drive-In
Many of the carhops at this retro joint offer a treat for your pup when you drive up for a bite.
Like Sonic, driving up to the window at this drive-through often includes a treat for any doggies aboard.
16. Handel”s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt
The Redondo Beach, California, branch offers a “Frosty Paw” for your pooch, which is a soy-based ice cream. Other locations offer the “Dogster” instead, a veterinarian-approved treat in mint or peanut butter flavors.
17. Shake Shack
The “Woof” section of this East Coast burger chain offers doggy delights like the “Pooch-ini,” a vanilla custard topped with peanut butter sauce and dog biscuits.
Found in Taipei, Taiwan, the restaurant provides pooches with a fancy meal and, as the name suggests, donates portions of their proceeds to trap-neuter-release programs helping feral animals in the area.
Now you”re all set for your next doggy date night! (Formal fur is optional.)
